Community Transport is part of the voluntary sector and plays an important role in filling gaps in service not provided by local buses and trains (the mainstream public transport network) as well as meeting the more specific needs of particular groups or individuals in the community.

Emergency Patient Transport
In a medical emergency, call 999 and ask for an ambulance. A medical emergency is when someone is in a critical condition or life-threatening situation.
Non-emergency Patient Transport Services
Some people are eligible for non-emergency patient transport services (PTS). These services provide free transport to and from hospital for people who have a medical need for it.
