A round up of our recent work
Over the last few months we have:
A new office
Set up a local office in Quedgeley, Gloucester and transferred the staff team.
A new website
We have launched the new and improved Healthwatch Gloucestershire website.
Started to put in place a new volunteer programme and met with people who have volunteered in the past and interested in being part of Healthwatch Gloucestershire moving forward.
Met with some of the local health and care commissioners and providers.
Made contact with the local Voluntary Sector Alliance and had the opportunity to meet the sector at a Health and Wellbeing Forum.
Started the process of setting up a steering group for Gloucestershire.
Local Health and Wellbeing Board
Taken up our seat at the local Health and Wellbeing Board and other important groups.
What will we do by Christmas 2017?
We aim to have the new arrangements for Healthwatch Gloucestershire properly established, so we have a strong basis for the next 5+ years. Between the summer and Christmas we plan to have:
Carried out a recruitment campaign for volunteers.
Supported our volunteers to deliver local community engagement.
Filled all available staff roles.
Put in place a local Healthwatch Gloucestershire steering group as part of our governance arrangements.
The Steering Group will be setting the priorities for the work plan.
Increasing our communications so that more people know what Healthwatch is and are encouraged to talk to us.
Commencing our first piece of research on local experience of health and care.
Work with commissioners to improve the quality of information on the website ‘Your Circle’ including signposting local people to it.
