Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do

Our volunteers are out in the community in Gloucestershire listening to people to find out if health and care is working for them

Whether you want to gain valuable work experience, help improve care in your community or learn new skills, there are lots of ways you can join us to make a real difference.

Our volunteers support us in many different ways. From speaking to local people to find out what they think about health and care, to using these views to influence those who run services, volunteers play an important role with us and we couldn't do it without them.

Why volunteer with us?

  • Make a difference in your local community by giving people the opportunity to speak up about their health and social care.
  • Make new friends as you become part of the Healthwatch team.
  • Boost your CV as you develop new skills and confidence in the workplace.
  • Use your skills to contribute to the success of Healthwatch across Gloucestershire.
  • Research the health and social care issues that are important to you.

I don't have any experience in the health sector and as such I wasn't sure if this would be the right organisation for me to work with, however, it’s been a thoroughly worthwhile experience...All the volunteers and the team at Healthwatch Gloucestershire are very supportive and caring; I've been made to feel very welcome and that my contribution has been valued.

"I volunteered for Healthwatch because my late husband was a ‘frequent flier’ with the NHS and I thought I could perhaps give something back. It’s a very rewarding job which I would thoroughly recommend.”
