Are you being listened to and involved in your care and treatment?

Get in touch to share your experiences about the NHS and social care - whether they have been positive, negative or somewhere in between.
A man talking to a female doctor in a clinical setting. The woman is wearing a white medical coat with a stethoscope.
We're looking at whether people in Gloucestershire feel listened to and included in their care and treatment, and the impact this has their health and wellbeing.

From feedback we've received from members of the public, we've heard that people can feel unheard by professionals:

  • When trying to access the right kind of appointment for them
  • During health and social care assessments
  • When raising concerns about the care or treatment someone is receiving
  • If they are not being treated holistically or when their symptoms not being taken seriously, particularly for those with comorbid conditions
  • If English is not their first language
  • If they may need advocacy support
  • When talking about women's health
We want to collate some in-depth case studies to demonstrate the impact that feeling unheard has had on you, and if appropriate, your family or loved ones, if you have not been listened to and involved in your care and treatment - but also what difference it has made to you if/when you felt listened to.

This project will be completely story based, so if you would like to share your experience with us, please get in touch and we can arrange a convenient time to meet with you or discuss this piece of work further.

As with all our work, the stories will be anonymised and no personal details will be shared, to protect your identity.
